Tomorrow our intrepid volunteer team of 4, Frank, Lynn, Jackie and Susan depart from Pearson Int’l Airport for Kilimanjaro Int’l Airport via Amsterdam. We are excited to get going!
A lot of planning and prep has gone into the trip, including the packing of many donated items such as Laurie’s craft soaps, and 20 postpartum menstrual care kits (thanks to the sewing skills of volunteers Christine and Edwina). We also have books, school supplies, and even some hand-me-down soccer shirts and a soccer ball!
Jackie and Susan are looking forward to teaching English in two different settings: a vocational training centre and a secondary school. Lynn and Frank will be visiting as many schools, families, students and building projects as we can, as well as meeting with local community leaders. Tanzania here we come!
