Salome is attending Makomu Secondary School. She wants to be an accountant and likes science in school. Salome’s mother has passed away. Her father tries to earn some income by selling used shoes, but it is the grandma (bibi) who is maintaining the family and taking care of their farm animals. Two other sisters are in secondary school and the so the school costs for Salome are a real pressure on the family.
