Once again, thanks to our supporters, we are able to support the group of mamas ‘ABCD Care Tanzania’ in their vital work. These mamas work hard on their sewing machines to sew hundreds of menstrual care kits every year for the girls and women in their villages.
ABCDreams contracts these wonderful mamas to provide a reusable (good for up to 3 years) menstrual care kit for every girl entering the two secondary schools that ABCDreams is working with. This ensures that the girls stay healthier in school and can attend every day. The girls are also given health care instructions on the proper use of the kits by group leader Mama Eva (a retired registered nurse).
This photo shows the mamas holding up baby quilts made and donated by Canadian volunteers to be given to the local medical dispensary for expectant mothers, and a table covered by donated kits.
