Recently, at a local pub/restaurant (Castle Johns) in Newmarket, Ontario, a huge party was held to raise funds for ABCDreams! ABCDreams Board Director Joe was the organizer. Joe plays in a band called The Weekend and the band generously donated their fee and kept the energy ramping up all evening.
The place was full, the energy was soaring and the music was great…dancing, singing, eating and …donating…ABCDreams Board Director Lynn was kept busy at the donation table! What a success!
We had a silent auction of many original craft and art items from Tanzania. A raffle of wonderful donated prizes such as an accordion and a guitar brought in many dollars!
More amazing results…photos and the stories of 17 of our neediest students were posted on the wall and fantastically, all of these students were sponsored for a year of their education by the end of the night. Simply awesome!
Huge thanks going out to Joe, the band and all the volunteers who made the event so successful!
