The last couple of days have been full of warm reunions with friends, and exciting meetings with students and teachers.
Visiting Mlang’a Secondary School and Nduweni Primary School was a day full of joy. We met 10 new Mlang’a students who were identified as needing help by their school administrators and ABCD Tanzania to join the ABCD family. They were nervous but volunteer Teddi managed to get smiles out of them. Headmaster Mr. Makaka was very happy to receive the 2 LCD projectors that we brought from home for his school. These were donated at home by the Mindcamp organization!
Near Mlang’a Secondary School is Nduweni Primary School. Head teacher Godfrey is a marvel at energizing and inspiring his students. He is a wonderful educator who clearly loves his students. Our team was thanked in song and dance by the children for the breakfast program that they receive.
Our team enjoyed a coffee break one day at a little cafe run by Mama Mlay, a lovely lady who has been host to Abcdreams teams for many years.
On another day we were graciously invited for lunch with Mama Eva (Chair the mamas group,Care ABCD Tanzania) and her family at her new home.
Finally we also met Mama Kessy, mother of two of our graduates, when she was cooking for a celebration event that we attended in the Makomu parish.
