This year ABCDreams had runners/walkers in the Kilimanjaro Marathon! President Frank and Volunteer Teddi!
We had to be up and ready to go to Moshi town by 5 am and it was still dark as we drove, half asleep, to the event. There was already a big party going on at all the race starts as the start times approached. Quite a spectacle of loud energetic music and warm ups. The crowd of thousands was at full power. So at 7 am Teddi set off on her 21 km run, and at 7:30 Frank set off on his 5 km run/walk shoulder to shoulder with the masses of people.
The heat ramped up as the morning progressed so the water stations were very welcomed. We both completed our races successfully and were very happy to see those FINISH gates in sight.
