On the last trip to Tanzania President Frank visited one of the primary schools that ABCDreams supports…Kiraracha Primary School. The head teacher informed him that for years the teachers have had to use the students’ toilets as there was no longer a separate facility for them. He was taken aback and set out to see what could be done to support the teachers.
It was decided with ABCDreams Tanzania that this years Repair and Maintenance budget would be allocated to building a separate building for the teachers and connecting it’s plumbing to the student toilet and to the same septic pit, thus avoiding the expense of digging of a new pit (they can be well over 50 feet deep and hand dug)
This project is now underway! The photos show the area allocated with the student toilet in the background, and the foundation walls going up.
Looks familiar! Looking good. I need to finish mine now!
