On this trip we are living in a rented house so that means we are cooking for ourselves. We go the local market on market day in Marangu Mtoni to buy what we need.
What a vibrant, bustling place! A delight for all the senses for sure. So much on offer from all kinds of fresh fruit such as mango, pineapple and oranges to vegetables such as mchicha (sort of spinach), carrots, onion and garlic. Also dried fish of all sizes, meat, used clothing, kanga robes, used shoes and cosmetics. An experience!
