A recent meeting with our Advisory Committee was very fruitful in learning from their perspective what the priorities are for our work in Marangu West. Top of their list is school fees for students, then school toilets, school breakfast programs, school kitchens and school repairs.
To this end we visited some schools where the toilet situations are dire. Komela PS can no longer use their toilets and have erected temporary toilets for their students. Makomu SS students are using toilets which are 50 years old…difficult to get past the smell to take photos. Kiunguni/Komalyangoe PS also needs new toilets. Not to mention other schools with needs for leaky roof repairs, classroom repairs and construction. We will try our best to find the funds for as many of these projects as possible.
