A big part of the work of ABCD directors in Tanzania is meeting with various groups, individuals and stakeholders in the community of Marangu West.
We recently met with Nurse Eva at the Makomu Dispensary to talk about the Days For Girls project on which Christine has spent so much time at home. She has organized volunteer seamstresses to sew, and sewn herself, over 100 personal care kits for ABCD girls and other girls and women in the community. Nurse Eva was thrilled to see the kits and promised to lead a workshop about the kits at our upcoming Art Day. Lynn also presented to Nurse Eva a donation cheque for the dispensary.
We also met recently with Head Master Kaniki, and teachers of Makomu Secondary School, and John de Ronde, a friend of ABCD, to discuss the proposed computer classroom at the school. We hope to soon agree on a memorandum of understanding so that this project can move ahead to provide computer literacy opportunities for the students at this school.
Of course, meetings go on everyday between Frank, Lynn and Sebastian to make sure all our objectives are met for this trip.
