Recently the students of the LEAD club (Leadership Training) and the Amnesty International students of Markham DHS, organized an ABCD Creativity Market in the front foyer of their school. They displayed for sale and for auction donated artworks from the community and from our own ABCD children…and there were some delicious food for sale too. All proceeds are being donated to ABCD: Art Building Children’s Dreams. A tremendous effort went into this event and we would like to thank these compassionate students so much for their kindness and generosity.
It is this group of students who are alsoparticipating in the ABCD Language Development Program by exchanging letters with our secondary school ABCD students, thus helping them to improve their English reading and writing skills.
This is an amazing group of young people who take action to make a difference in the world.
As a practising artist and youth advocate I am very interested in the efforts of ABCD. So yesterday I attended an information meeting to learn more about volunteering in Tanzania with the ABCD group. I’d heard about the group from a friend who new Frank. I won’t apologize for being a skeptic however in this case I might. This seems to be one of the first times I can refute the old adage” if it seems too good to be true then it probably…”. The sincerity and credibility of Lynn and Frank is pure. I hope to have an opportunity to offer my skills in assisting some of their work in the future.
Congratulations to all participants! Isn’t it a great feeling?
Cheers
